If there's a day that can give people the Blues, it's definately Mondays. For many people, the first day of the work week reminds them that the weekend is over and it's time to get back to the grind. For me and my family, we were extremely busy  with Homecoming activities that included:

  • Tailgating
  • Dances
  • And Football

If that wasn't enough, we were filled with joy when our youngest grandchild along with her parents visited for the weekend, and without question, Sunday was a day of worship. I think it's safe to say that enough activity took place this weekend to make you think that I woke up feeling the blues this morning. Guess what? Instead of feeling the blues, I felt a strong sense of appreciation, because I've personally learned to see Monday as a fresh-start to a new work week instead of the opposite.

This morning, you may have covered your head with your pillow when your alarm went off. Now that you're out of bed and making your way towards the coffee machine, remember, today is the first day of your new week that's filled with new opportunities. With that in mind and heart, why not give these thoughts a try:

  • A new week filled with new opportunities.
  • Give yourself something to look forward to like visiting a friend and/or planning a Monday activity.
  • Give yourself a pass when it comes to social media and catching up on personal emails.
  • If working from home, try something new like working from a different location where you can enjoy something new like a relaxing atmosphere coupled with a beautiful view.
  • Decide right now that you will manage your Monday instead of your Monday managing you.

Happy Monday!
